Weeks

The twelve-week teaching schedule: what happens in each week, what to prepare, and what leaves the room.

Twelve weeks, one progression: see the shot, control the shot, then think beyond it. Each week below follows the same structure — objectives, then Learn, See, Think, Play and a Table Check.

Know the Game

An orientation to the table, the equipment and the basic rules — everything a complete beginner needs before technical stroke instruction begins.

Week 1 · 22 February 2027

Build Your Stance

The complete pre-shot setup, taught in order — the routine every later week's stroke depends on. "A good shot starts before you bend down."

Week 2 · 1 March 2027

The Straight Shot

A practical continuation of Week 2 — turning the stance and cue action into a repeatable straight stroke.

Week 3 · 8 March 2027

Finding the Angle

Moving from straight shots to angled shots, by understanding the relationship between the cue ball, the contact point, the object-ball path and the pocket.

Week 4 · 15 March 2027

Cue Ball Direction & the Tangent Line

A new question after potting: where will the cue ball go after contact? This week introduces contact thickness and the tangent line.

Week 5 · 22 March 2027

Stop, Follow & Draw

Using vertical spin on purpose — stop, follow and draw shots, built on last week's tangent-line reference.

Week 6 · 29 March 2027

Side Spin & Cushion Reactions

Left and right side spin, and how they can change the cue ball's reaction off a cushion. "Spin is a tool, not a shortcut."

Week 7 · 5 April 2027

Point Positioning

The first formal positioning method, Point Positioning: can I make the cue ball finish at a specific location?

Week 8 · 12 April 2027

Zone Positioning

Zone Positioning — a more forgiving alternative to an exact point: aim for a workable area, not a single spot.

Week 9 · 19 April 2027

Route Positioning & Three Shots Ahead

Route Positioning — reading the cue ball's whole travel path, planning a three-shot sequence rather than treating each shot in isolation.

Week 10 · 26 April 2027

Safety, Attack & Recovery

Not every shot has to be a pot attempt — recognising when to play safe, when to attack, and how to recover from a poor position.

Week 11 · 3 May 2027

Play the Table

Bringing the course together — reading a full layout and playing it with point, zone and route thinking, attack and safety, all in view.

Week 12 · 10 May 2027
