Course-wide rules for attendance, participation, quizzes, submission, and safety.
Policies#
Attendance & Table Participation#
Attendance & Table Participation is worth 10% of the final grade (see Assessments). There are 12 weekly participation opportunities; your best 10 results are counted, with each counted week worth 1%. Your lowest two results are automatically dropped. This means turning up to practical sessions and taking part in table time, not just being present in the room.
Weekly Online Quizzes#
Weekly Online Quizzes are worth 10% of the final grade. There are 12 weekly quizzes; your best 10 quiz results are counted, with each counted quiz worth 1%. Your lowest two quiz results are automatically dropped. Complete the quiz for each week — linked from that week’s page — as part of working through the week’s material.
Assessment Submission#
Follow the submission instructions and deadline stated on each assessment’s own page (see Assessments). Read the brief before you start, and submit by the stated deadline.
Safety & Table Conduct#
- Handle cues and balls carefully at all times.
- Never swing a cue around other students.
- Keep the area around the table clear.
- Wait until the table is completely clear before taking a shot.
- Respect the equipment and share practice time with the rest of the group.
Respectful Behaviour#
Give and receive feedback constructively, take turns fairly, and play in a way that respects other students and their time at the table.
Missed Classes#
If you miss a class, review that week’s page and the lecture materials where available, then practise the missed skills before the next session.
Academic Integrity#
Complete graded quizzes and assessments using your own work and understanding.
Course Materials#
The course website — weekly pages, diagrams and lecture slides — is provided for enrolled students’ own learning.
