The first studio — setting up the bench, handling the materials safely, and making the first deliberately bad copy of the semester.

First review
The second studio — a first look at each other's week-1 attempts, and a practice run at giving feedback the connoisseur's-eye way.
Week 2 · 5 August 2027
Materials and marks
Ageing a surface convincingly by hand, and learning by doing it what a lab test would catch that an eye wouldn't.
Week 3 · 12 August 2027
Independent bench time
A studio with no new material — dedicated time on Assignment 1, "The Convincing Copy," with the tutor circulating rather than demonstrating.
Week 4 · 19 August 2027
Copying a hand
A handwriting and signature forgery exercise, and a first live demonstration of stroke-dynamics analysis catching a fake in real time.
Week 5 · 26 August 2027
Assignment 1 work time
The last studio before Assignment 1 is due — bench time and a final materials-and-method note check before submission.
Week 6 · 2 September 2027
The Convincing Copy — crit
Assignment 1 submissions meet the room, run through the connoisseur's-eye checklist by classmates rather than only by the tutors.
Week 7 · 9 September 2027
Bench time — provenance groundwork
A second open bench-time studio, starting the research and materials gathering the final project's provenance file will need.
Week 8 · 16 September 2027
The Tell begins
Assignment 3 opens — analysing a provided sample of real or synthetic media and writing the case for your verdict.
Week 9 · 23 September 2027
The Tell — work time
The second and final Tell studio — finishing the analysis and writing the case for your verdict before submission.
Week 10 · 30 September 2027
Provenance work time
Dedicated studio time on the final project, with both tutors circulating to check objects against their claimed histories.
Week 11 · 7 October 2027
Final crit
The last studio of the semester — every final project presented with its provenance file, crit'd by the whole room one more time.
