Week 7 Studio: The Convincing Copy — crit
Assignment 1 submissions meet the room, run through the connoisseur's-eye checklist by classmates rather than only by the tutors.
9 September 2027
Before the session#
Bring your finished, submitted Assignment 1 piece and its note.
In the session#
A room crit, not a private mark: every piece goes on the bench, and the class runs the week-2 checklist over each one in turn before either tutor gives their own read. The point of doing this in public is the same point the brief makes about the whole course — the interesting content is in why a copy doesn’t quite land, and that’s more visible with a room of eyes than with one tutor’s alone.
Afterwards#
Marks and written feedback follow separately, on the schedule given on the assessment page; today’s crit is the feedback that changes what you do differently for the final project, not the mark itself.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
