Week 12 Studio: Final crit
The last studio of the semester — every final project presented with its provenance file, crit'd by the whole room one more time.
14 October 2027
Before the session#
Bring the finished object and its complete provenance file, printed or otherwise presentable to the room.
In the session#
The same room-crit format from week 7’s Assignment 1 review, run one final time and at higher stakes: each project is presented with its claimed history, and the room — tutors and classmates together — questions the provenance file the way an auction house’s due-diligence team would. The questioning is meant to be hard; a provenance file that survives it is doing real work, not just decorating the object.
Afterwards#
Marks and written feedback for “Provenance” follow on the schedule given on the assessment page. This is the last scheduled studio of the semester.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- your final project and its provenance file are both present and complete
- you have presented your object's claimed history and can defend one part of it under questioning
- you have given feedback on at least one other project's provenance file
