Week 9 Studio: The Tell begins
Assignment 3 opens — analysing a provided sample of real or synthetic media and writing the case for your verdict.
23 September 2027
Before the session#
Nothing to prepare — samples are distributed in the studio itself, so nobody has time to research the specific piece in advance.
In the session#
Each person or pair receives a sample (image, audio or short video) that may or may not be synthetic, and a briefing from Naledi on which of this week’s detection techniques are realistic to apply with the tools available in the studio. The rest of the session is a working start on Assignment 3, “The Tell”: not a verdict yet, just the first pass of analysis.
Afterwards#
“The Tell” runs across two studios; see the assessment page for what the final write-up needs to contain.
