Week 4 Studio: Independent bench time
A studio with no new material — dedicated time on Assignment 1, "The Convincing Copy," with the tutor circulating rather than demonstrating.
19 August 2027
Before the session#
Bring your Assignment 1 work in progress and the style or object you’re copying, so a tutor can look at both side by side.
In the session#
No lecture and no new demonstration this week — this studio is deliberately open bench time. Anselm circulates and answers questions one bench at a time rather than teaching to the room, which is closer to how a real studio practice actually runs than a scheduled demo every week would be.
Afterwards#
There’s no formal check-in beyond conversation at the bench, but showing up with nothing since week 3 is the one way to make this week useless to yourself.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
