Lectures

What is covered, week by week, and which topics each lecture draws on.

Lectures run on Mondays, in four phases. Each page sets out the week’s craft, what to do before class, and the exercise that Wednesday’s Dailies will screen. Every week is delivered from slides, and each lecture opens its own; the twelve decks are also listed on one page, with the sources each of them cites.

The Rig Weeks 1–2

The Rig

Setting up the rig for the semester — a VRAM budget or a credit budget, where model weights and their licences come from, and the graph or the request log as the artefact that survives the render.

Week 1 · 22 February 2027

The Loop

The basic cycle every generator runs on — the interface against the workflow underneath it, rolling and selecting rather than prompting once, and the seed as the address of a specific result.

Four Generators Weeks 3–6

Text to Image

The first generator — prompt grammar for a single keyframe on anime-trained checkpoints, from one line to a full colour script.

Week 3 · 8 March 2027

Slides

Image to Image

The second generator — pushing an existing image toward a finished keyframe with denoising strength, ControlNet, and IP-Adapter, on the turnaround from rough input to finished frame.

Week 4 · 15 March 2027

Slides

Text to Video

The third generator — the four-sentence prompt that controls motion directly from words, a model's native clip length, and how to read a take that failed.

Week 5 · 22 March 2027

Slides

Image to Video

The fourth generator — keyframe-first control, locking a first and last frame, and the difference between directing motion and losing identity.

Holding It Together Weeks 7–9

Your Own Workflow

Reading and rebuilding the workflow this course has been supplying — loaders, conditioning, samplers, and a fix pass — and the permission to go photoreal that comes with owning your own graph.

Week 7 · 19 April 2027

Slides

Continuity

Holding a character and a location steady across shots with a reference library and a model sheet — LoRA and DreamBooth against reference adapters, the scene master plate, and the audit that checks it held.

Week 8 · 26 April 2027

Slides

Script and Storyboard

Writing a vertical episode as a beat sheet of states rather than transitions, the three-second hook that opens it, and the storyboard as a shot list with sizes and references attached.

Week 9 · 3 May 2027

The Episode Weeks 10–12

Production, Week One

Turning nine weeks of technique into an actual episode — the shot queue, split roles, the patch-or-reshoot decision, and the quality gate nothing skips.

Week 10 · 10 May 2027

Slides

Production, Week Two

Finishing an episode — assembling the queue's shots into one cut, sound and captions, loudness standards, and the delivery spec a platform actually expects.

Week 11 · 17 May 2027

Slides

After Five Minutes

What happens after a pilot ships — the series bible, the release calendar, reading a retention curve, and which parts of this semester's process actually scale into a season.
