Audits

The twelve-week teaching schedule: what happens in each audit, what to prepare, and what leaves the room.

Each audit follows the week's lecture and takes the notice apart: naming a specific claim, checking it against the migration path and breaking changes, and saying what evidence would settle it if the lecture didn't. This is where the Weekly Audit Log entries come from.

Your first audit

The first audit --- practising on the directory assistance notice, where the outcome is already known, before you have to audit anything live

Week 1 · 22 February 2027

Auditing a live migration

The second audit --- the same close-reading habit from week 1, applied to an industry whose ending we don't already know

Week 2 · 1 March 2027

Reading a control-loop pitch

A mechanical/clerical audit --- practising on an industry framed as a simple control-loop task, and checking whether that framing holds

Week 3 · 8 March 2027

When the pitch is true

An expert-work audit --- the hardest case for scepticism, where the pitch's numbers really do hold up

Week 4 · 15 March 2027

What a pitch's framing hides

An informational/creative audit --- checking what "the same job, done faster" quietly leaves out of its own description

Week 5 · 22 March 2027

The apprenticeship argument

The last audit before the break --- a task worth automating and worth keeping, for two different reasons, at once

Week 6 · 29 March 2027

The tier the pitch didn't touch

The first post-break audit --- checking a rollback plan's claim that the untouched tier is actually safe

Week 7 · 19 April 2027

Measuring the wrong thing

A care/relational audit --- when a pitch's efficiency numbers answer a question nobody needed answered

Week 8 · 26 April 2027

Auditing a strained notice

The audit gets harder here --- this week's notice doesn't split cleanly into "confident pitch" and "damning audit," and the session is about working with that instead of forcing it back into week 1's shape

Week 9 · 3 May 2027

Auditing a naming dispute

The most strained audit in the course --- where the disagreement is about what a word means, not what the facts are

Week 10 · 10 May 2027

Checking a pitch's scope

A physical/seasonal audit --- catching the gap between what a pitch names and what its migration path actually covers

Week 11 · 17 May 2027

The Sunset Review Board

The capstone audit --- defending or blocking a real notice in front of the class, using every skill this semester built

Week 12 · 24 May 2027
