Week 12 Audit: The Sunset Review Board
The capstone audit --- defending or blocking a real notice in front of the class, using every skill this semester built
24 May 2027
The board is the course’s own version of the check this week’s lecture describes: someone accountable, reading a notice closely, before it goes out. You’ll do that job for a classmate’s notice, and have it done for yours.
Before the session#
Read your assigned notice the way week 1 taught you to: find the seam, check whether the parts agree, and bring the specific sentence your case will turn on.
In the session#
Formal review-board format — defend or block, then cross-examination from the room, using only evidence from the notice and whatever sources you brought. General scepticism (“AI pitches are always overblown”) and general enthusiasm (“automation is just progress”) both lose against a specific sentence.
Afterwards#
This is the last session of the course. The habit it’s assessing — reading a confident pitch for the seam where the plain audit starts — is the one thing every week was actually teaching, regardless of which industry that week’s notice was about.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can defend or block an assigned notice using specific evidence, not general scepticism or general enthusiasm
- you can apply this week's lecture's own standard (a plain audit, checked by someone accountable) to the review board process itself
