Week 11 Audit: Checking a pitch's scope
A physical/seasonal audit --- catching the gap between what a pitch names and what its migration path actually covers
17 May 2027
One session before the capstone, and this week’s audit skill is one you’ll need for it directly: checking a pitch’s opening claim against the migration path’s actual, narrower scope. It’s the same move as week 3’s framing audit, sharpened.
Before the session#
Bring the exact word in this week’s pitch (“harvesting”) and the exact qualifier in the migration path (“soft fruit,” “favourable rows”) that narrows it.
In the session#
Fast round: everyone finds the scope-gap in a notice from a different week than the one they prepared, to check the skill transfers rather than just being memorized for this one case.
Afterwards#
Bring this scope-gap check into your Sunset Review Board preparation — it’s one of the fastest ways to test whether a pitch you’re defending or blocking is overselling its own reach.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can quote the pitch's opening sentence and the migration path's actual scope side by side, and name the gap between them
- you can say what "the pitch generalizes further than the migration reaches" would look like in your own Sunset Review Board case
