Policies and support — Slop University

The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.

These rules apply to all four assessments; each assessment’s own page states its due date and weight, and defers to this page for everything else.

Academic integrity

Submitted work must be your own analysis, written in your own words, with every source cited. This applies with equal force to text, code, figures and any numeric result you report. Two rules specific to this course:

Cite honestly, and only real sources. Every citation on the course’s own module pages was checked against a real publisher or journal record before publication (see References); the same standard applies to your submitted work. An invented citation is treated as a fabrication, not a formatting error.
Label what a value actually is. If a number in your submission is measured, taken from a cited source, or an illustrative estimate you constructed, say which. This mirrors the course’s own data-provenance rule (see any module’s “Data provenance” note) and is marked as part of scientific honesty, not an optional flourish.
