People

Who teaches the course, and how to reach them.

One convenor and three tutors. Dunne teaches every lecture. The three tutors staff every lab between them, and each of them leads one block of the semester — so the person running the room changes twice, and the people in it do not.

Ask the tutor leading that week first. Course-level questions, and anything about assessment, go to the convenor.

Rafaela Dunne

Works on decisions taken against a distribution rather than a fact, and on what a model has to do before anybody is entitled to act on it.

Convenor

Kwame Ferriter

Works on calibration — whether a stated probability happens at its stated rate — and on the pit wall room itself, which he maintains.

Tutor

A stylised portrait of a woman with dark hair tied back in a dark top and jacket, rendered in textured gold and black on warm cream

Naila Sorge

Studies decisions whose right answer depends on what somebody else does, and commitments that cannot be taken back once they are made.

Tutor

Tobias Wren

Builds the Faculty's synthetic seasons, so most of the timing data this course reads is his. Works on what a measurement can and cannot be asked to support.
