- a wall a stranger can read without me
The corpus goes on the wall and other people read it.
Setup
Arrive an hour early. Cards go up with the provenance visible, not on the back and not in a folder. A specimen whose verification level is hidden from the viewer is presented as more certain than it is, which is the one failure this course does not forgive.
The visit
Members of the school walk through. They will not have been to any of the lectures. Your wall text is the whole of what they get, and if it needs you standing beside it, it is not finished.
The four minutes
Then each of you walks the room through your own wall. Four minutes. Not a defence — a reading. What is here, what is not, and which card you are least sure about.
Afterwards
The corpus stays. Next year’s course starts from it, and every verification level you wrote down becomes something a stranger inherits.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- every card on your wall carries source, date and verification level
- your wall text says what you left out and why
- you can walk a stranger through it in four minutes without defending it
