After this lesson
- Write a concise support request with a timeline and a specific desired outcome.
- Separate a cancellation request from a refund request or a disputed charge.
Give the next person something actionable
Start with the service and plan, your purchase channel, the action attempted, the time, and the result. Then state what you are asking support to do. Keep unrelated frustrations out of the first paragraph.
Use the fictional failed-request dossier in the workshop. It gives you a confirmation number for one plan but an unexplained charge on another. Identify the question before drafting the message.
Keep different requests separate
Ending future renewal, asking for money back and reporting an unrecognised transaction can require different information. In this exercise, label each request explicitly. A polite message cannot guarantee a refund, and a saved conversation does not by itself prove that cancellation completed.
For a real case, use the provider’s official support route and current guidance for your location. Record who responded, what they agreed to do and when you should check again.
Your deliverable
Write a support message of at most 180 words and attach a short evidence index. A classmate plays the support role and identifies anything still missing. Revise once, then add a follow-up date to your plan.
