Course handbook

Policies and support

Clear expectations for a course about clear exits. These are the policies of the fictional How to Leave course.

How the course runs

There is one dated lecture and one Wednesday workshop per teaching week. Budget about four hours a week for reading, practice and assessed work. No coding is required. Use a browser and a way to write notes. All scheduled times and assessment deadlines use Canberra local time, including its daylight-saving change.

The teaching period includes a break from 7 to 20 September. Lecture pages, workshop briefs and assessment dates are published in full so you can plan ahead.

Submission and feedback

Give the teaching team a PDF at the relevant workshop, as a local file or printed copy, by the date in the assessment brief. A digital copy can be handed over at the preceding workshop if the deadline falls later that week. This prototype has no enrolment or upload service.

Your tutor reads the evidence and reasoning against the published criteria. Exit Lab results are ungraded practice. Expect written feedback within two teaching weeks.

Extensions and late work

Ask the teaching team before the deadline for a short extension and propose a new date. If an unexpected event makes that impossible, explain it as soon as practical. The fictional course accepts work up to seven calendar days late with a penalty of five percentage points of that assessment’s available mark per day, unless an extension is agreed. These classroom policies do not alter the real COMP4020 Assignment 2 rules.

Accounts and privacy

Every required exercise can be completed from supplied fictional data. Do not submit passwords, card numbers, account recovery codes or unredacted personal statements. Optional personal observations should be anonymised. You never have to purchase a subscription or cancel a service to pass.

Sources and assistance

Credit sources and date your checks. Label quoted material. You may use AI for drafting or explanation, but declare the assistance and verify all platform-specific claims against the original source. Do not invent an account outcome or participant feedback.

Accessible participation

The practice records are available as text and CSV. All core activities can be completed without the interactive lab. Ask the tutor for a spoken walkthrough, an alternative document format or additional time. Visual polish is not a grading criterion.

Scope of the guidance

Platform guidance can differ by region, purchase channel and plan. Case pages state their scope and when the sources were checked. For a real account, review current official instructions and the terms shown for that account. The course does not promise refunds or act on accounts.
