WEEK 04 / Work the cases

Apple: find the purchasing account.

Use the receipt to find the Apple account and cancellation route that match the purchase.

17 August 202645 MIN LECTURE + INDEPENDENT READINGREAL-PLATFORM CASE

After this lesson

  • Match an Apple-billed receipt to its purchasing account.
  • Recognise when the receipt points to another biller.

Case scope. Apple-billed purchases; Australian support article. Follow the account identified on the receipt.

Case file: the subscription that is not in the list

The practice receipt for STAY+ names Apple as the biller and NORTH as the purchasing account. Your fictional phone is signed into SOUTH. Before tapping through more settings, identify the mismatch.

Consult the linked Apple guide for the current device-specific route. In its iPhone instructions, subscription management sits under the account name in Settings. The receipt can help you identify which account made the purchase. Use the branch that fits the supplied evidence.

Follow the iPhone route

  1. Check the purchasing account against the receipt.
  2. Open Settings, select your account name, then open Subscriptions.
  3. Choose the specific subscription and its cancellation control.
  4. Review the resulting expiry/status information and keep a record.

For other devices or a missing entry, use the appropriate branch of Apple’s guide. A carrier-billed purchase needs the carrier’s route.

Do the exercise

On paper, write the account you need, the official management route, and the evidence you would inspect at the end. Then explain why opening the STAY+ website first would not resolve this particular purchase.

Now change one fact: the receipt was issued by STAY+ directly. What changes in your route? The point of the variation is to make you read the biller rather than memorise a brand shortcut.

Keep a completion record

Copy the relevant status and date into the worksheet, not just “pressed cancel”. Where a screen is ambiguous, add the next check you would make.

Your inventory is due this week. Check that every conclusion points to a receipt, a plan card or an explicitly identified gap.
