After this lesson
- Identify payment frequency and commitment length separately.
- Distinguish ending renewal, ending access and requesting a refund.
Read both clocks
A practice plan can collect money each month while committing its customer to a longer period. Our fictional R02 card says annual commitment, paid monthly. R01 says monthly commitment. Put those phrases in different columns rather than shortening both to “monthly”.
Look for a start date, a renewal date, the commitment period and the policy that applies to ending early. If a plan summary leaves one out, name the missing information before making a recommendation.
Four different questions
- Will this renew again?
- When does paid access finish?
- Is an amount still payable under the stated terms?
- Has a refund been requested or approved?
A single word, “cancelled”, does not answer all four. For this exercise, use only the printed rules in the practice pack. Do not import a rule from a different brand or country.
Try the distinction
A fictional customer turns renewal off on 20 September but keeps paid access until 8 October. Is the cancellation a failure? Explain your answer using the dates and the stated goal.
Produce an annotated plan card and a short list of questions you would resolve before acting. These become the terms section of your inventory assessment.
