Week 4 Dailies: The Turnaround

Dailies for the week's five-tier image-to-image exercise.

17 March 2027

Bring all five outputs, the shared prompt, and the strength value used — one prompt and one strength, held constant across five inputs of rising finish, is the whole exercise, so the room checks the log before it looks at a single frame. The five outputs screen in ladder order, input finish rising each time: rough sketch, clean lineart, flat colour, finished keyframe, finished keyframe under ControlNet. Notes ask one question per pair — did more finish in the input actually buy more control in the output, or did the prompt and strength swamp it anyway. An output that ignores its own input entirely is a strength-dial failure, not a style choice.

What gets screened

Five outputs of one prompt at one strength, in order of how finished their input was. The log is read before a single frame is looked at, because the claim being tested is that only the input changed.

The rungs, in the order they screen:

An output that owes nothing to the input beside it is the one to stop on. That is a number on the strength dial, and it is read off the log rather than argued about in front of the picture.

The point where more finish stopped buying more control sits somewhere different for every input, and naming yours is the exercise.

The rungs above are not a description. The rig recorded them once, and that recording is the scale: replay the five passes this Dailies is measured against.
