Simulator progression check
The gate before the aircraft — you do not fly in week 10 without this signature, and there is no version of the course where that bends
Due: 16 April 2027 · Weight: 20%
The brief#
Fly the whole profile, in the box, unassisted, to tolerance, in one sortie.
Takeoff, circuit, approach, landing. No instructor input, no resets, no component flown twice. The tolerances are the published ones and they are on the standards page; nothing here is a surprise, which is the point of a check.
Final is flown with the airspeed indicator covered. You have been practising this since week 7.
What you submit#
Nothing written. The check is the sortie, and its result is a signature or the absence of one.
Attempts#
There is no fixed number. Book the box, fly it again, and again after that. The instructor would rather sign this in week 9 than sign it early, and a check passed on the fourth attempt is worth exactly what one passed on the first is worth.
What passing it does#
It releases the week 10 authorisation for the convenor’s signature. Both signatures are required before the aircraft leaves the line with you in it; there is no conditional or provisional version of that authorisation.
The spec
The brief poses the problem and leaves room for a response. The spec is the fixed part: what a marker checks. Some lines can be checked mechanically; the rest call for judgement.
- the profile is flown within published tolerance, unassisted, in one sortie
- the abort decision is made at the computed speed, without a pause at it
- final is flown on the indexer, with the airspeed indicator covered

|---|---|
| Takeoff and the abort decision | 25% |
| Circuit geometry and profile | 25% |
| Approach flown on angle of attack | 30% |
