Two gates, one written judgement, and the check ride that is worth half the course.
Two of these are gates rather than grades. The systems examination in week 3 has a timed practical component, and the simulator check in week 8 releases the authorisation for your first solo — without it the aircraft does not leave the line with you in it.
The check ride is half the mark and is judged as one sortie rather than as a sum of its parts. Abandoning an approach on your own gates costs you nothing there. Continuing past one is the failure, and it stays a failure when the landing turns out fine.
Egress and systems examination
The first gate — whether you can leave the aircraft, and whether you know what the aircraft is doing while you are in it
Due 12 March 2027 · Weight: 15%
Simulator progression check
The gate before the aircraft — you do not fly in week 10 without this signature, and there is no version of the course where that bends
Due 16 April 2027 · Weight: 20%
Abnormals — a written judgement
The one piece of written work in the course, and it is an argument for a single number that only you can set
Due 7 May 2027 · Weight: 15%
Check ride
The final sortie, and half the course's marks, resting on one question about the state of the aircraft afterwards
Due 14 May 2027 · Weight: 50%
