Week 4 Care Lab: Catwatch Showcase
No new task — presenting a misjudged signal and a downgraded inference from your finished Catwatch log, and carrying it into The Care Model
17 March 2027
No separate task this week#
Catwatch is already due — Wed 17 Mar 2027, 08:30, before the earliest timetabled group — so there is no new preparation task. Come to your Care Lab having already submitted, with two things picked out of your own log:
- one signal you initially misjudged, and what you misjudged it as
- one claim you started as Inferred and later downgraded to Unknown
In the Care Lab#
This week’s session is a showcase, not a new exercise: in your timetabled group, each person presents their misjudged signal and their downgraded inference, briefly — what you thought at first, what changed, and why. Name which of Week 3’s ideas — repetition, routine, register, or interaction history — explains why the signal meant something different than you first read it as. Listening to other people’s misjudgements is often more useful than reviewing your own; the patterns that trip up several people at once are usually the ones worth carrying forward deliberately.
Afterwards#
The Care Model, released this week, asks you to structure exactly the kind of material Catwatch produced — including its mistakes. A misjudged signal you can now name is more useful going in than a log with no visible errors in it at all.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you bring one signal from your Catwatch log that you initially misjudged
- you bring one claim you downgraded from Inferred to Unknown, and can say why
- you leave with at least one thing you will carry into The Care Model
