Care Labs

Eleven weekly Care Lab opportunities, Weeks 2 to 12, marked on completion and combined as your best 10 of 11

Due: Wed, 26 May 2027, 08:30 · Weight: 10%

Weekly rhythm

Care Labs run as eleven weekly opportunities, Weeks 2 through 12 — Week 1 is lecture only, so there is nothing to bring to a Care Lab before you have watched anything to log. Each ordinary week’s task is released the previous Monday and due by Wednesday 08:30, ahead of that week’s earliest timetabled group; several small groups run from Wednesday onward, at different times but with identical content, so check your enrolment for which one is yours.

The date shown at the top of this page is the Week 12 Wednesday recovery point — the last of the eleven opportunities, not a single deadline for the whole stream. Each ordinary week keeps its own release-and-due rhythm, named on that week’s own Care Lab page.

Two weeks break the ordinary rhythm on purpose. Weeks 4 and 7 are showcases rather than fresh preparation tasks: Catwatch and The Care Model have just been submitted, and the Lab time is spent presenting that work instead of starting something new. Week 12 is the recovery opportunity — complete an equivalent case there to replace a missing or weak week, or use the session as an open capstone clinic if your other ten results already satisfy you.

What a Care Lab is

A Care Lab is where the ideas from lecture meet an actual human-cat case, worked through with your timetabled group rather than alone.

What you hand in

Nothing is submitted to this page directly. Each Care Lab’s own page names its weekly task, if it has one, and its due time. Completion of that task, or participation in that week’s showcase or clinic, is what counts.

What good work shows

A completed Care Lab record should show a pattern across the semester, not one finished artefact.

How it is marked

Each of the eleven Care Labs (Weeks 2 to 12) is marked complete or incomplete against that week's short in-session task, worth 1% on completion. Your grade is the best 10 of 11 results, so one missed or weak week needs no separate special consideration. Week 12 exists specifically as a recovery opportunity — complete an equivalent case exercise there to replace a missing or low result, or use the session as an open capstone clinic if your other ten results already satisfy you.
