Fortnightly tutorials
A running mark across the semester's lab tasks, due every two weeks and split 20% attendance, 20% quality of bullshitting
Due: 1 March 2027 · Weight: 40%
Every fortnight’s task is released at the last minute, per course policy — Parkinson’s law, not an oversight.
The brief#
Every second week, bring something. It does not have to be right.
The first tutorial lands in week 2 and repeats every fortnight after that for the rest of the semester — this page stands in for the whole recurring series, not just its first date.
What you submit#
Whatever the fortnight’s lab task asks for, in whatever state it’s in by the tutorial. There is no format beyond “something a marker can look at and judge against the split above.”
The spec
The brief poses the problem and leaves room for a response. The spec is the fixed part: what a marker checks. Some lines can be checked mechanically; the rest call for judgement.
- you attend the tutorial each mark is attached to
- you produce something for the fortnight's task, however rough
- the something is bullshitted with conviction, not left blank
How it is marked
20% of the total mark is attendance — you were in the room, on the day, for the tutorial the mark is attached to. 20% is the quality of the bullshitting itself — whether the fortnight's task was answered with the confidence and abstraction the lectures have been building, not whether it happened to be correct.
