Week 10 Session: Tutorial 10: philosophy checkpoint
Week 10's tutorial — the fifth graded checkpoint, pairing a fake-deep paragraph against a real argument as in lecture
26 April 2027
Bring the paragraph that survived week 9’s clinic, now paired against something a real philosopher actually argued. This is where the comparison from lecture gets run for a mark instead of an audience.
In the session#
- short pairings read side by side, no commentary first
- the room votes on whether the pairing holds up or quietly falls apart
- notes on what “it’s satire” is doing when it’s used as a defence here
Afterwards#
Same split as always: half for showing up, half for whether the pairing was made honestly rather than rigged to flatter itself.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you attend, on the day
- you bring a paragraph from week 9 paired against a real argument on the same subject
