Week 6 Studio: Redesign studio I
Studio time to pick a door from your audit and start proposing a fix for it, in the room and out loud before it's written down
29 March 2027
Before the session#
Reread your own audit entry for the door you’re about to pick. The proposal brief is explicit that the diagnosis has to survive unchanged from the audit — this session is where that gets checked early, while it’s still cheap to fix.
In the session#
Working studio time, not a lecture. Petra circulates while people sketch first fixes for their chosen door, pushing back hard on anyone quietly redesigning an easier problem than the one their audit actually found. Pick your worst door, not your funniest one, is said out loud more than once.
Afterwards#
Nothing submitted. The redesign proposal is due at week 8, after one more studio session and a crit.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you have picked the one audited door your redesign proposal will address
- you can state the specific failure you're fixing, unchanged from your audit entry
- you leave with at least one hardware or signage idea sketched, not just described
