Petra spent eleven years as a working architect before noticing that every building review she sat in argued for hours about facades and roof lines and never once about the door someone would actually touch first. Doorology is the course she wishes had existed instead of a semester of studio crits about buildings nobody would ever occupy.
She sets the semester’s studio programme, runs the opening and closing crits, and marks the Field Guide. If a door is doing something inexplicable and you can’t work out whether that’s a design decision or a mistake, that’s the question she wants to hear.
