Week 11 Crit: Portfolio assembly
Laying out ten weeks of notes side by side and asking whether the method actually held, or whether it just felt like it did each week in isolation.
3 May 2027
Bring#
Every note you’ve written this semester — visual art, code, prose, peer review, review-as-genre, the brief itself — laid out, not tidied up.
The crit#
You read your own semester back to the room in order, out loud, and the room grades your weakest note against your strongest using nothing but this week’s criteria: specific, falsifiable, about the work. Most people find their weakest note is from a domain they were least comfortable in, which is itself the finding — the method holds up worst exactly where you trusted your own taste most and checked it least.
Leaves with#
A shortlist for the Final Project portfolio, and an honest answer to the question from week 1: does your definition of a note still hold, eleven weeks and six domains later?
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you can point to your weakest note from the semester and say, specifically, what was wrong with it
- your one-sentence definition of a note from week 1 either still holds or you can say exactly where it broke
