Week 6 Session: Midpoint review and Final Project launch
No new subsystem — a recap of the map, combat and narrative triangle so far, peer review of Boss Blueprints, and the Final Project brief released
29 March 2027
Before the session#
Submit your Boss Blueprint if you haven’t already. Bring it to the session regardless.
In the session#
No new material this week. We recap the first five weeks as one argument rather than five separate ones: a level withholds connection, combat withholds outcome, a boss withholds narrative resolution until it earns a transition — three subsystems doing the same job of turning restriction into legible failure.
Then we peer review Boss Blueprints in pairs, checking two things specifically: does the transition trigger have a justification specific to that boss, and is the new attack’s telegraph actually learnable or just described as one. The Final Project brief is released at the end of the session — read it before next week’s lecture.
Afterwards#
Bring your partner’s feedback into how you revise the boss going forward. The Final Project explicitly allows reusing this boss, so a fairness problem caught now is cheaper to fix than one caught in Week 12.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- your peer-review notes on another student's Boss Blueprint name a specific fairness or narrative concern, not general praise
