Students started calling Yan “the Soul god” after the first midpoint review, when a boss transition the room had been waving through as “fine” got rebuilt from scratch on the spot for not earning its own difficulty. The name is only half a joke: every opinion given in this course has to point at a specific frame, not assert a rank.

Yan runs the Week 6 midpoint review and the Week 12 final showcase — the two points in the twelve-week arc where the map, combat and narrative threads stop running in parallel and have to hold together as one design.
