Week 7 Workshop: Posture workshop
Designing a distinct look for each of the three physics presets, using only the pose controls the physics engine never sees.
7 April 2027
Preparation#
Complete the week 7 lecture task and watch the linked slides before this session.
Activity#
- For each of the three physics presets (Floaty, Heavy, Precise), choose a pose setting you think matches its physics feel, using the posture comparison’s fixed trajectory so you’re only judging the body, not the path.
- Show your three choices to a partner without telling them which pose was meant for which preset. Ask them to guess. Record whether they guessed correctly, and if not, what pose feature misled them.
- Revise the pose that was guessed wrong, if any, and note what you changed.
Output#
Your three pose settings, their justification sentences, your partner’s guesses and outcomes, and any revision from step 3. This directly rehearses the pose choices One Body, Three Personalities asks you to defend in week 12.
Criteria#
Not marked. Your tutor will check that all three comparisons used the same recorded trajectory — a pose that “worked” because the trajectory quietly changed underneath it doesn’t count as a pose result.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- a pose setting (arm swing, leg tuck, landing compression) chosen for each of the three presets
- one sentence per preset justifying why that pose fits that preset's physics feel
- confirmation that all three poses were compared on the same fixed trajectory
