- Email for course-level questions; bring per-jump questions to the workshop instead, where the engine is on screen.
Marisol built the course around a single question: what actually changes when a jump feels different, if the ground it lands on never does? Before Slop University she spent six years tuning platformer feel at a string of studios that never shipped anything longer than a demo, which she claims is the correct amount of jump code to write in a career.
She holds office hours by the same rule she holds the course to: bring a number, not a feeling. “Too floaty” gets a question back — floaty compared to what, measured how. “Airtime is 40% longer than the reference and the class called it floaty” gets an answer.
Consultation is for course-shape questions — what a week is for, how the assessments connect, whether a plan for extending the engine is reasonable before you build it. Feedback on a specific jump belongs in the workshop, where whoever asks can also see the trace.
