Camera-based tracking as a richer form of digitizing, and the Final Planning & Ideation crit
26 April 2027
The round-trip pillar begins its final turn: camera-based tracking is a richer, continuous form of the digitizing work from weeks 1–2 — instead of capturing a static object once, a camera feed captures motion, presence or position live, ready to feed into the interactive systems from Programming II.
Outline#
- what a tracking pipeline captures that a single scan doesn’t: continuous position and motion, not one static shape
- combining a tracked input with a state machine or rule system from weeks 7–8
- Final Planning & Ideation crit — propose your final’s theme and which three-plus techniques it combines, with rationale
- fabrication next week: closing the loop from digital back to physical
