The Exchange Rate
Crossing 2's report-back — what the trade actually returned, measured against what it cost to make
Every trade has a rate, whether or not you did the arithmetic beforehand. This week you do it out loud: what you put in, what you got out, and whether you’d call that a fair exchange or a bet that didn’t quite pay off.
In the room#
Report the trade the way you’d tell a friend who wasn’t there — what you offered, what they gave back, and the moment you realised whether it had worked. “Fair” isn’t the only acceptable answer; a trade that went badly is just as reportable as one that didn’t, as long as you can say why.
What gets asked#
Expect a follow-up aimed at the rate itself, not just the story: would you make the same trade again, what would you ask for instead, did you get the better end of it or the worse. See Crossing Participation for how a live report and reflection turn into the Crossing’s mark.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you report, live, exactly what was traded and what came back for it
- you name whether the exchange rate was fair, and why
- the room can ask what you'd trade differently next time
