The Six-As-Ifs Webring
Before search engines learned to find everything, small sites found each other by hand: a "ring" of pages on a shared theme, each one linking to the next and the previous, so a visitor could walk the whole loop and end up back where they started. This hut is a ring of one member, which is a strange kind of ring, but a ring all the same — every room in the shrine points to the next, and the last one points home.
What's in the ring
- Home — the entrance hall
- The Six As-Ifs — the sūtra's six similes
- Tang Yin — the painter who lent his name
- Guestbook — where visitors sign in
Six-As-Ifs Ring Link back
or the ring breaks!
A real webring needed at least three members to make the loop worth walking. If you keep a shrine of your own on the old web — text-first, script-free, dedicated to some particular obsession — consider this an open invitation to start the second link, and leave word in the guestbook so I know to build the join.
