六如庵
The Hut of Six As-Ifs
You have found 六如庵, a small shrine on the personal web, kept the old way: hand-built pages, no scripts, no trackers, no infinite scroll. It is dedicated to a single line from the Diamond Sūtra and to the Ming-dynasty painter who took that line as his own name — Tang Yin, 唐寅, who called himself 六如居士, "the lay Buddhist of the six as-ifs."
The line runs: all conditioned things are as a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, dew, and lightning. This little hut is my attempt to sit with that thought for a while, dressed in the pixels of a web that has mostly moved on.
Wander the halls:
- The Six As-Ifs — the sūtra's six metaphors, one shrine room each
- Tang Yin — the painter who lent this hut his name
- The Webring — a small ring, all in the family
- Guestbook — leave word that you passed through
