Parking Wars 车位争霸

It isn't a parking space you're taking. It's your standing on the friends leaderboard.

Parking Wars A memorial to the browser-era parking game

This is an open-air car park parked in 2010. It doesn't connect to anything, it doesn't save, and it doesn't keep score. It only tries to set out, in a browser you're using today, that feeling of logging in and checking your parking space before anything else.

About this site: this is a static car park with no JavaScript. The parking below runs on HTML form controls and CSS alone. Its state lives only in this page, and a refresh resets all of it. Coins never accumulate, time never moves, and every earnings figure is written in by hand. An original tribute piece, unaffiliated with any company or product, containing no official assets.

Zone B4 — open-air car park

Two steps: pick a car, then pick a space. The result appears below under "Parking result". By keyboard: Tab moves between the two groups, arrow keys move within a group. The chosen option is marked with a "Selected" chip and a heavier border, never by colour alone.

Step 1 — choose a car
Step 2 — choose a space

Parking result

Not parked yet

The space is empty and you're earning nothing. Pick a car, then pick a space, and the result and the earnings receipt will appear here.

Hold on — you haven't chosen a car

The space is chosen but the garage door is shut. Go back to step 1, pick a car, and come back.

Parked — Bay A, "Sunny spot"

Nose straight, handbrake on. Your car is in Bay A and has started working for your reputation.

Simulated earnings receipt — no. B4-A-0618

Penguin Runabout — 12 coins/min × 5 min = 60 coins

Neon Hatchback — 28 coins/min × 5 min = 140 coins

Blue Diamond Coupé — 96 coins/min × 5 min = 480 coins

Written in by hand. With no JavaScript, that clock was never running.

Collected. Except this is a memorial: the coins don't reach your balance, and a refresh returns everything to zero. That old rhythm of collecting a round and then going off to poke around someone else's page ends here.

Space lost — Bay B is taken by a friend

隔壁老王 ("Next-Door Wang") got here forty minutes ahead of you. Back then this left two options: go and post on his page to nag him into moving, or say nothing, remember it, and wait for him to log off.

Try another space, or go and vent in the guestbook.

Ticketed — Bay C, beside the fire lane

You'd barely switched off the engine before the warden came round the corner. There's a slip under your wiper now: "Fire lane. 200 coin penalty. Don't make a habit of it."

Parking violation notice

Location: Zone B4, Bay C — beside the fire lane

Action: 200 coins deducted (simulated)

Nothing is really deducted. This exists to reproduce the specific feeling of setting out to earn a little and going home down.

For a safer bet, go back to step 2 and take Bay A.

Three spaces is deliberate. There is a limit to the state pure CSS can honestly express, and rather than fake a complete game it seemed better to tell one complete round — choose, park, see what happened. The full rules and every limitation are in the manual.

Somewhere else to go

  • Memory archive

Why a game this simple could pull people back seven times a day, and how a friends list quietly became a map.

  • Manual

The rules in the style of an old software manual, with a beginner's quest list and a chapter on everything this CSS-only version cannot do.

  • Garage and vehicle index

Six original cars, from a runabout to a concept car, each with a level, a price and a not-entirely-serious description.

  • Guestbook and ranks
