Sir Reginald Fluffington III

~*~ a home page for a very good cat ~*~

Reggie's photo album

These were all scanned in on the flatbed scanner my brother-in-law set up for me in September. I am told the files are large and I have made them as small as I am able. If you are on a modem this page may take a moment, and I do apologise, but I think you will agree they were worth waiting for.

The photographs are in no particular order because I could not decide on one. Each has a caption. Some of the captions are longer than strictly necessary.

Reggie sitting compactly with all four paws tucked underneath him and his eyes contentedly shut
The loaf. This is his default arrangement. He can hold it for four hours. My sister timed him once out of scepticism and then apologised.
Reggie sitting inside a cardboard box labelled FRAGILE, with both front paws hooked over the rim
The microwave box, 14 November. The microwave cost four hundred dollars and has been used twice. The box it came in has been in continuous use since the day it arrived.
Reggie lying stretched out on his side in a patch of sunlight on the carpet, legs extended, eyes shut
The 3 p.m. sunbeam, hallway. It arrives through the front window and moves along the carpet, and he moves with it. In winter he will follow it into the laundry, which is a room he otherwise refuses to enter.
A close portrait of Reggie's face, front on, with green eyes and three dark forehead stripes
Portrait, by the back door. The only photograph of him looking directly at the camera. It took eleven attempts and a piece of cheese, and you can see the cheese in his expression if you know to look.

A note on the photography

I am not a photographer. These were taken on a Kodak with a fixed flash, which is why in two of them he has the look of a cat who has been ambushed. I have learned since to open the curtains instead, and the sunbeam photograph is the first one I have taken that I would show to somebody without explaining it first.

If you would like to see the vital statistics that go with the face, they are on Meet Reggie. Or go back to the home page.
