Week 12 Session: The Worst Design Awards
Final presentations, run as an awards ceremony. The Redemption Project is due this week
24 May 2027
Before the session#
Bring the finished Redemption Project and a category you’d nominate it for — Most Confusing, Most Manipulative, Most Unnecessary, Most Beautifully Terrible, Most Effective, Most Defensible, Worst Physical Object, Worst Interface, Worst Process, or one of your own.
In the session#
The last session runs like an awards ceremony rather than a lecture: every student presents their Redemption Project, the class nominates and awards the categories above, and the semester closes on the same question it opened with — what makes something genuinely bad? There is deliberately no single answer.
Afterwards#
The Redemption Project is due today. That’s the course.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- your Redemption Project is presented in a category the class has agreed on
- you can answer, on the spot, what makes your chosen system genuinely bad
- The Redemption Project is submitted by the due date
