Marisol designed this course around a single question: what does directing still mean once a model can generate the shot itself? Twelve years directing for stage and short-form video preceded the move into teaching, and the course’s insistence on judging every generated take against a stated intention — never against how good it happens to look — comes directly out of that practice.
Marisol sets the semester’s overall shape and marks the two major submissions. For anything about a specific week’s exercise, ask in that week’s workshop first; email is for course-level questions that can’t wait — an assessment query, an extension request, or anything that needs a decision before the next class.
