Week 2 Studio: First review
The second studio, where the mark made in week 1 meets a hand that isn't yours for the first time
1 March 2027
Before the studio#
Bring the build from week 1, running, and the one decision about it you’re least sure of. Not the thing you’re proudest of — the thing you’d change if someone gave you a good enough reason.
In the studio#
Every studio from here follows the same shape: a short demo, then feedback aimed at the uncertain decision rather than at polish. Four minutes per person is enough to show a build and hear what a stranger’s hand actually does with it, which is nearly always different from what you rehearsed in your head. This is the format every studio for the rest of the semester repeats, including the crit that marks First Instrument in week 6, so it’s worth getting comfortable with the shape now, while nothing is graded yet.
Afterwards#
Take one piece of feedback and act on it before the next studio, even if it’s small. The habit that matters is closing the loop, not accumulating notes.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- your week 1 build is running and can be shown in under two minutes with no setup
- you can name the one decision you are least sure about
