Week 12 Lab: Sixty Seconds, One Domain

The synthesis lab — a 60-second personal lightning talk mapping your own last-mile story to one of the eleven domains this course covered

24 May 2027

Solo, in the room, one at a time. Before the lab, take week 12’s reflective quiz on the lecture page and note which domain (or domains) it flagged as the one you’ve personally hit. In the lab, you get sixty seconds — timed, not a suggestion — to tell the room about one real unfinished thing of yours and which of the eleven earlier weeks’ arguments actually explains why it stalled.

Before the lab

Read week 12’s lecture and take its quiz. Pick the one real unfinished thing you’re willing to talk about for sixty seconds in front of the class — it doesn’t have to be dramatic, it has to be true.

In the lab

Sixty seconds each, in a fixed order, no slides. The point of the strict limit is the same point week 8’s moving-goalpost widget makes about targets: a talk with no limit quietly becomes a talk about everything, which is a last-mile failure in miniature, live, in the room.

Submitting

A one-paragraph written version of your talk, individually, naming the domain you mapped it to. Due Friday 28 May, 5pm — the same day the final project is due, since this is the last lab of the semester.

Solo — sixty seconds is a personal account, not a group one.

The spec

What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
