Policies and support
The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.
This page collects the course rules and support information. Ask early when a problem might affect your work.
Attendance and participation
Studio activities depend on showing work, asking questions and giving specific feedback. If you miss a class, read the module page, complete the practical task where safe to do so, and bring one question to the following class. Attendance alone is not graded.
Late work and extensions
Work submitted after the stated deadline loses 5% of the available mark per calendar day, for up to five days. After five days the work receives zero unless an approved extension applies. Request an extension before the deadline through the course convenor, explaining what you need and proposing a realistic new date.
Consent, privacy and copyright
Ask identifiable participants for permission before recording and explain how the work may be shared. Do not film people in distress, private spaces, restricted workplaces or situations where consent cannot be freely given. Use only media you made yourself, have permission to use, or can identify under an appropriate licence. Keep a record of every external asset.
Academic integrity and generative tools
Your submission must document your own creative decisions. You may use tools for transcription, caption drafting or technical troubleshooting if you disclose them in the production dossier. Do not submit generated footage, generated voice, or an edit made by another person as your own recorded work.
Accessibility and support
Captions are required on assessed videos. Students may substitute equipment, alter a field exercise or negotiate another production method when accessibility, safety or privacy requires it. Contact ZIMU LI privately to make a plan. For immediate wellbeing or safety support, use the university support service rather than waiting for class.
