The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.
Policies and support#
Late work and extensions#
Work submitted late without a prior extension loses 5% of the available mark per day, up to five days, after which it is not accepted. If something outside your control is going to make a deadline unworkable, email Cthulhu before the deadline, not after — extensions are much easier to grant in advance than to arrange retroactively.
Academic integrity#
Your scenario, your NPCs, your clue web and your prose need to be your own work. Using a published scenario’s plot, locations or puzzles as your submission is not acceptable; being inspired by how a published scenario handles a technique, and saying so, is exactly what this course asks you to do. If you use an AI tool for drafting or feedback, declare it and say how, the same way you’d declare a co-writer.
The Assessment 3 playtest requirement#
Assessment 3 requires an actual playtest with a real player — a solo read-through does not satisfy it. If you don’t have a regular group, contact Nodens before week 11: it keeps a standing list matching students who need a playtest partner with each other.
Getting help#
Bring scenario-specific problems — a stuck clue web, an NPC that isn’t working, a structure that’s fighting you — to a studio session or Nodens’s office hours. Email Cthulhu for anything about the course itself: the brief, the schedule, or an extension request.
