The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help.
Policies and support#
Late work and extensions#
Assignments submitted after the deadline lose 5% of the available mark per day, up to five days, after which they are not accepted without an approved extension. Extensions are granted for documented illness, carer responsibility, or equivalent circumstances — email the convenor before the deadline where possible, and as soon as you’re able to otherwise.
Academic integrity#
Cite every source you draw a claim, figure, or dataset from, including the national collision dataset used throughout the unit. Discussing ideas with classmates is expected; submitting someone else’s analysis or write-up as your own is not. If you’re unsure whether a particular use of a source or a tool crosses a line, ask before submitting.
Getting help#
Bring content and research-design questions to sessions — that’s what they’re for. Use email for anything that can’t wait until the next one: enrolment questions and assessment logistics to Marisol Quaye, and week-to-week material to either convenor or the tutor. See the People page for contact details.
