Colophon

What on this site is invented and what is not, the rig the recordings came off, how the site is put together, and where the course lives.

What is real and what is not

Slop University is invented. So are its departments, its convener and its tutor, the course code SLOP8760, and every piece of administrative furniture around them — the room numbers, the consultation hours, the shared render window in the policies. No such institution offers this course, and nobody listed on the People page exists.

Everything about the craft is real. The techniques, the parameters and their published ranges, the model names, the licence terms quoted on the slides and the platform delivery specifications are all taken from primary sources, and each week’s reading links the page a claim came from. Where a source could not be confirmed, the course says the technique generically rather than putting a number on a slide.

The Studio is the same. Every clip and still on this site is a file the convener’s rig actually recorded, kept with the prompt, the seed and the settings that produced it: all recorded on the convener’s rig, and nothing is generated in the browser. A student who reads this material and believes it will hold correct beliefs about how the work is made — the fiction stops at the institution.

The rig

The recordings came off one machine, and the licences on what runs on it are part of what this course teaches.

Wan2.2 is “licensed under the Apache 2.0 License”. MiniMax H3 is “released under the MiniMax H3 Community License Agreement”, which is a licence with conditions rather than a permissive one, and is worth reading before a graduating student builds a business on it. NoobAI-XL declares fair-ai-public-license-1.0-sd, and its own model card adds a clause the licence does not: “We prohibit any form of commercialization”. Two documents, read together, or the answer is wrong.

Reference stills for The Ninth Head were made with a commercial image generator rather than on the local rig; they are inputs to the course’s own work, and no licence claim is made about them here.

How this site is built

The site is an Astro 7 build. Its structure and components come from astro-course-university and astro-theme-university, its palette and lockups from astro-theme-slop, and the twelve decks are rendered by astromotion, which builds a deck from the same Markdown the rest of the site is written in. Type is set in Public Sans, with Roboto Mono for code and for anything that has to line up in a column.

The course material on this site is published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The recordings are covered by the licences above, which are stricter, and win.
