Week 11 Drop-in clinic: Project 3 Generalisation Clinic
An evidence-led drop-in clinic for locating the generalisation boundary and separating supported conclusions from alternative explanations
10 May 2027 · Drop-in clinic
Time: Monday 10 May 2027, 15:00–16:00 AET · online.
Drop-in clinics are not additional lectures or graded checkpoints. They are evidence-led troubleshooting sessions. Students may attend for any portion of the hour. Staff can help interpret a failure or assess whether a comparison is controlled, but they do not select an assessed method or write a report conclusion for a student.
Bring one item#
Task-contract and verifier output; in-template versus shifted-slice results; one controlled ablation; an error taxonomy; a regression result; or a fresh-load failure.
Clinic sequence#
Verify technical validity; locate the generalisation boundary; test whether the comparison isolates one factor; separate supported conclusions from alternative explanations; identify the minimum remaining audit.
Expected outcome#
A candidate final checkpoint, a bounded claim, and a short list of unresolved limitations that belong in the report.
After the session#
De-identified common-issue notes are posted; there is no model solution.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- a candidate final checkpoint
- a bounded claim
