Week 7 Drop-in clinic: Project 2 Behaviour Clinic
An evidence-led drop-in clinic for interpreting target-versus-retention evidence and difficult preference labels
12 April 2027 · Drop-in clinic
Time: Monday 12 April 2027, 15:00–16:00 AET · online.
Drop-in clinics are not additional lectures or graded checkpoints. They are evidence-led troubleshooting sessions. Students may attend for any portion of the hour. Staff can help interpret a failure or assess whether a comparison is controlled, but they do not select an assessed method or write a report conclusion for a student.
Bring one item#
An operational target-voice definition; a rendered SFT mask; an unchanged/tuned output pair; a target-versus-retention metric table; or a preference pair whose label is genuinely difficult.
Clinic sequence#
State the target; inspect the evidence; separate format failure, weak supervision, over-training, decoding, and evaluation ambiguity; choose one diagnostic that can change the plan.
Expected outcome#
A frozen evaluation comparison and a justified decision about the next or final post-training stage.
After the session#
De-identified common-issue notes are posted; there is no model solution.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- a frozen evaluation comparison
- a justified decision about the next or final post-training stage
