Week 12 Tutorial: TPS Audit
Given a supplied base, explain how it has been TPS-optimised and identify what, if anything, is still costing it performance.
19 October 2026
Before the tutorial#
This is the last tutorial of semester — bring every save you’ve built across the course if you want to compare your own base’s TPS along the way.
In the tutorial#
Audit the supplied base against this week’s checklist: entity count, entity type, pollution and biter activity. Say what’s already been optimised and what, if anything, is left.
Afterwards#
This closes the semester’s practical work. The Final Exam and Weekly Practicals mark are both finalised after this week.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- existing TPS optimisations in the supplied base are correctly identified
- any remaining performance cost is correctly attributed to entity count, entity type, or pollution/biter activity
- the audit distinguishes a TPS problem from a production-ratio problem
