Week 10: Advanced Optimisation
Circuit-network logic gates, nuclear power layout, and dispatching trains only when the network actually needs them.
5 October 2026
Outline#
- Logic gates — comparators and decider/arithmetic combinators as the circuit-network equivalent of an if-statement.
- Nuclear setups — reactor and heat-exchanger layout, why neighbouring reactors boost each other, and the failure mode logic gates exist to prevent.
- Logic-based rails — circuit conditions on train stops and signals so trains run only when the network’s state calls for it.
- On-demand trains — dispatching a train only when a station’s stock actually needs topping up.
